I wake up before sun rises at kurseong , watching the rising sun gives me peace and strength. As it is raining season I don't get to see the sun rising due to the fog. Sitting by the window of kurseong college hostel, watching the thick monsoon fog slowly cover the tea gardens, I find it hard to imagine how loud this town was just a few weeks ago. Before the voting began, life was a chaotic show of noise and bright colors. Our daily walks were filled with politicians shouting through megaphones, party flags covered every tin roof, and local tea shops turned into intense debate zones over hot cups of tea . Now, the big circus is over, the winners have taken their seats, and Kurseong has quickly returned to its quiet rhythm. I was not happy nor sad because it doesn't make difference when all the party's are same.
Today , everything is back to normal . Even among us students, the temporary political arguments have vanished and are now just talking about the upcoming exams. The politicians are gone , leaving behind only torn plastic banners . The bright election banners promised big changes and leave but the mountains, the morning sun and our daily struggles remain the same .
